So far you' ve been "telling" me about difficult decisions in your life, but let's try something different now. (Since nobody asked me about mine, I'll skip that part and move on:))
What I would like you to do next is to:
1. Read the following situations,
2. Decide who (in your opinion) has found himself in the most difficult situation and why? Choose one situation you liked best and write what should the person (who is in dilemma) do.
Again write a brief comment.
1. SITUATION
Mandy's best friend Alex confides to her that he has commited a crime and Mandy promises him never to tell anyone about it. Soon Mandy discovers that an innocent person has been accused of the crime and she asks Alex to give himself up. He refuses and reminds her of her promise. Mandy doesn't know what to do.
What do you think she should do???
2. SITUATION
While shopping Kate is noticing an old woman, a tramp, stuffing 2 loaves of bread into her purse.
Kate feels sorry for her but she can't let her steal. Or can she??? What do you think? Should Kate report her or should she do something else???
3. SITUATION
Tim is an inmate in a concentration camp. A sadistic guard is about to shoot his son who tried to escape and wants Tim to shoot him. The guard tells him that if he dosen't do that, he will not only kill his son, but some other innocent people as well.
Do you think Tim should do what he is told to do???
4. SITUATION
John is on a boat and nearby are three large rocks with a person on one, and things on the others, waiting to be rescued. John cannot rescue all, only one. He has to choose between the following:
a) a bottle with the cure for cancer that would save thousands of lives,
b) a bottle with the cure for HIV that would save thousands of lives,
c) his fatally ill brother.

In the most difficult situation is in my opinion Tim. He must shoot his son. No person should not be placed in that situation. Blood is not water and if you have any fellings at all you can`t do that. I wouldn´t shoot my son if i was in Tims place. Guard said that the son will day anyway, but if Tim doesn´t kill him, many innocent people will die to. I wouldn´t shoot him even if that means that other people will die because i don´t want to live with murdering my son. But in the other way, if i kill him i´d shoot him in the heart, it would´d be quick and unpainful. That is just my opinion now. And just if i was in that situation i would know what to do. Every person make a decision that he thinks that´s the best in that moment. I realy hope that me or any person that i love, won´t never ever have to decide how would his son, dother or any one close to him should be killed. Death is the most terrible force on earth. I don´t want to meet it, till the day i die, because i know that i won´t never deal with it.

I absolutely agree with Manca.I would never want to be in this kind of situation.If i was in the position that Tim is I could never shoot my own son..no matter what blood is thicker then water.When you're a parent everything changes and there isn't a thing in the world you wouldn't do for your kid, no matter if there is one hundred , one thousand , or one millione lives in danger.Nothing is more precious than the life of your kid.I could not stand living as a murderer of my own son.So if I was in this position I think I would do the weakest thing there is to do-I would shoot myself, in that way I wouldn't have my son's life or the lives of many inoccent people on my concience.

I think that people which survive this kind of situation like Tim, that they must be very strong and self-confident. I agree with Monika that many peole like her will never shoot their son or other close relative or person which means a lot to them and they are attached to him or her. I never won´t to be in this kind of situation but if I must tell what I will do, I think that I kill myself (like Monika said before) I think that most people can´t live whit knowing that they killed their sun or someone they love.
I think that we will never know what we will do in this kind of situation or whichever Katja give to us. Every desicion in depended of thing which happening around you in that moment.

My opinion is that in the most difficulct situation is Mandy. In this way she was good friend and she promised that she won`t tell about Alex´s crime. But in the other way , I think she did a big mistake, because she didn`t tell about it and an innocent person had been accused, but he didn`t do nothing. My opinion is that Mandy should denounced him on the police station. I think that every person must pay for their actions which are incorrect. I am persuade that if anyone tell me about any crime, I would go to te police and tell what I know. I think in this composition Mandy`s decision should be to denounce her frend to te police, because we must be fair to other people in this case to innocent person.
